That this House congratulates Glasgow-based charity Maryhill Integration Network on its 15th anniversary; notes that the charity, founded in 2001, aims to bring communities together through art, social, cultural and educational groups and projects, offering people a chance to learn new skills, meet new people, share experiences and take part in worthwhile activities to improve their communities; further notes that the charity's stated aim is to work in partnership with stakeholders and user groups to develop projects and services that meet the needs of the local community, and build bonds and links within and between communities to encourage cross-cultural understanding and celebrate diversity, and that it encourages participation from people of all backgrounds, ages and abilities living within Greater Maryhill, the North West area of Glasgow and beyond; believes that the services provided by the Network have become increasingly important as a result of the ongoing refugee crisis affecting Europe, the Middle East and the Mediterranean; further believes that the work of the network is a positive demonstration of the welcome offered by people in Glasgow and Scotland to refugees; further congratulates the network on winning the 2016 Community Integration Award given by the Migration Work Trust for the best grassroots project of the year; and wishes the network every success in the years to come as it supports refugees and promotes community inclusion and integration.
