The House Of Lords And The Outcome Of The EU Referendum

EDM number 258 in 2016-17, proposed by Stephen Gethins on 29/06/2016.
Categorised under the topics of EU law and treaties and House of Lords.

That this House notes the arguments of Vote Leave during the EU referendum process around the importance of democracy and the electorate holding decision-makers to account; further notes that as part of the UK's withdrawal from the EU both Houses of Parliament will have a significant say on many of the policy areas subject to the EU decision-making process and therefore to maintain the democratic arguments pursued by Vote Leave; and calls on Ministers to bring forward a timetable for abolishing the House of Lords as part of the Brexit process.

This motion has been signed by a total of 34 MPs.
