EDM number 234 in 2016-17, proposed by Martin Docherty on 15/06/2016.

That this House wishes to acknowledge and thank the Clydebank Blitz Remembered Group which was set up to commemorate and coordinate events to mark the 75th Anniversary of the Clydebank Blitz; notes that the group compiled stories from survivors of the blitz and relatives of those affected, who were given the opportunity to share their own experiences thus allowing for a more personal approach to marking this anniversary; believes that the work carried out by the group was invaluable in bringing the tragic events of 13 and 14 March 1941 to the attention of the wider population at a time when understanding and learning from history is more important than ever; and wishes those involved the best of luck in future projects that mark events that took place during World War II.
