Pamis Dundee

EDM number 154 in 2016-17, proposed by Chris Law on 07/06/2016.
Categorised under the topics of Charities, Health services and Special educational needs.

That this House congratulates Promoting a more inclusive society (Pamis) on receiving the GSK Impact award which, in association with the King's Fund, gives access to £30,000 worth of funding; notes one of the many initiatives that led Pamis to win the award was its digital passport project which creates an interactive e-book that details the social, emotional and physical needs of the person who is being cared for by the charity, and then allows doctors, nurses, carers, teachers and other social workers of the person being cared for to upload and access texts, images and videos to more fully assess their needs; further notes that the charity also recently campaigned for more accessible bathrooms for people with learning difficulties and as a result 130 extra accessible toilets were created across Scotland; and highlights that Pamis campaigns have had a real impact on the lives of individuals with learning difficulties and Pamis should be highly commended for their outstanding work providing a voice for people with learning disabilities and their carers.

This motion has been signed by a total of 34 MPs.
