That this House congratulates Galston Community Development Trust (GCDT) on securing the Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme funding of £250,026; notes that this completes the final piece of the £1,073,279 funding jigsaw for the refurbishment of the iconic Portland Arms building; further notes the other funding of Section 75 planning funding of £125,000 from the Tesco/Dawn Development, £200,000 from the East Ayrshire Renewable Energy Fund, £264,674 from LEADER and £233,579 from the Big Lottery Community Assets; notes that this is another success for the GCDT which has in the past five years delivered successful gala days, the provision of a multi-use games area, the provision of a disabled persons parking space at Galston clinic, community cinema days, walking football, the opening of an office in the town centre, secured two employment posts; further notes that it has published 18 issues of the Galston News which incorporates news from other voluntary organisations, local schools and elected representatives confirming a wider focus on the community and not just buildings; and wishes GCDT continued success in its endeavours.
