That this House notes with deep regret the death of David Storey, novelist, playwright and former professional rugby league player; further notes that This Sporting Life remains arguably the finest novel ever written about sport and that Mr Storey's other novels and plays had a profound and lasting impact; and pays a heartfelt tribute to one of the greatest British writers in living memory.
