That this House congratulates the students and staff at John Paul Academy, Glasgow, whose film club has been awarded Into Film Club of the Year, 13 and over, at this year's Into Film Awards; notes that John Paul Academy film club, which is open to students from stages S1 to S6, has been running for four years, and through the leadership of Jacqueline Thomson and Michael Daly, encourages students to discuss and review films they have watched in the club, to explore the literature behind popular film adaptations, and to make films by taking part in Into Film's See It, Make It programme; further notes the Into Film Awards aim to find the best young filmmakers, reviewers, film clubs and teachers of the last 12 months and are organised by Into Film which provides teachers and educators with access to a network of extra-curricular film clubs, resources for use in clubs and in the classroom, training opportunities, a cinema-based film festival as well as hosting its annual Into Film Awards; applauds the hard work of, and talent shown by, John Paul Academy film club members; encourages other schools to reap the rewards of establishing an Into Film club such as John Paul Academy's; and looks forward to hearing about the future successes of the film club as well as other achievements made by John Paul Academy.
