Broken Rainbow's Rainbow Dot Campaign

EDM number 981 in 2015-16, proposed by Angela Crawley on 20/01/2016.
Categorised under the topics of Crime, Crimes of violence, Equality and Gender recognition.

That this House supports the Rainbow Dot campaign to be launched on 4 February 2016 by Broken Rainbow UK to highlight the existence of LGBT domestic violence; recognises Broken Rainbow UK as the national organisation that works with LGBT victims, survivors and perpetrators of domestic abuse; understands that incidents of LGBT domestic abuse are as frequent as those within heterosexual relationships and families; is cognisant of the physical, sexual, psychological, financial and coercive control from a family member or intimate partner to which many LGBT individuals are subjected every day; congratulates Broken Rainbow UK on the help and support it has lent more than 42,000 individuals in the past ten years; recognises that cuts threatened by the Government may mean a severe reduction in Broken Rainbow UK’s frontline service provision; and welcomes the opportunity to condemn domestic violence in all its forms throughout all sections of society.

This motion has been signed by a total of 35 MPs.
