That this House extends its deep sympathy to the people of Riverside Drive, Prestolee in the wake of the recent severe flooding to hit their homes; commends the people of Prestolee, Stoneclough and surrounding areas on their community spirit and hard work in the face of adversity, the generosity of the townspeople and of those from further afield and the generocity of local supermarkets which have donated food, cleaning products and other items; and expresses its profound thanks to, and admiration for, the superb work done by the emergency services, utility companies, Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council, Holy Trinity Church, the Grapes Hotel and, most of all, the individuals who have helped to clean up, repair and protect the properties affected.
