Walking And Cycling

EDM number 763 in 2015-16, proposed by Alan Meale on 25/11/2015.
Categorised under the topics of Children and families, Cycling, Leisure and Roads.

That this House recalls the Government's manifesto commitment at the last general election to double the number of journeys taken by citizens via bicycles and to encourage 55 per cent of all children to walk to school by 2025; notes its Local Sustainable Transport Fund, currently its largest investment in walking and cycling, ends in March 2016; and calls on the Government to act urgently to guarantee the funding of this mechanism which will continue to deliver improved health, increased confidence and greater independence, whilst reducing traffic congestion in our communities.

This motion has been signed by a total of 9 MPs.
