That this House welcomes Carers Rights Day which is due to be held on 20 November 2015; recognises that this day is used to bring organisations across the UK together to provide advice and information to unpaid carers, making sure that they are aware of the support available to them; notes that Carers Rights Day is also used as a way of raising awareness of the needs of carers with the public, politicians and professionals, helping to realise a society that respects, values and supports carers; appreciates the immense contribution that carers make to public life with a recent report suggesting that over 700,000 unpaid carers in Scotland help save the Scottish economy £10.8 billion a year; and calls on the Government to ensure that the UK Spending Review recognises and supports the vital contribution that carers make to society.
