That this House commemorates the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims on 15 November 2015; mourns the many people killed and injured in road crashes across the world; sympathises with the families of road traffic victims; acknowledges the grief and distress that road traffic crashes can have on victims and their families; supports development of comprehensive programmes to improve road user behaviour; commits to the increased enforcement of driving laws; pledges to raise the standards of driving in the UK through firmer treatment of criminal driving and better education of drivers; recognises the magnitude of the issue of road traffic deaths and injuries, both in the UK and worldwide; notes that this is the 20th anniversary of the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, and the 10th anniversary of its adoption by the UN; and further commits to creating safer roads, promoting safer driving, and designing and building safer vehicles, both at home and abroad, to prevent further deaths in road crashes.
