Newbattle Abbey College Second World War Project

That this House congratulates Newbattle Abbey College on securing a grant of £66,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund; understands that Newbattle Abbey College will use this funding to research and display its contribution to the Second World War, allowing the College to assess archival details around the UK related to its history; notes that the information will also include an exhibition at the College and guided tours of the College and the site of the previous military base used during the war; believes that the College, Scotland's national adult education college will also pay an integral role in involving the local community in researching archives and disseminating the work of the project in the wider community, preparing learning materials for schools and encouraging transgenerational learning providing courses to 150 students; and wishes the College well with its project.
