That this House condemns the shelling of the Khirash and Hambushiya displaced persons camps on the Turkish border near the town of Bidama by Syrian government forces on April 13 and 15 causing 3,000 people to flee; calls for international action to immediately halt indiscriminate shelling of civilians by the Assad regime; and supports calls from Human Rights Watch for the government of Turkey to open its borders to trapped Syrian refugees, upholding its UNHCR 1951 Charter obligations, including the right of Syrians to flee fighting to seek protection in Turkey.
