Sunday Trading

EDM number 1228 in 2015-16, proposed by Helen Goodman on 09/03/2016.
Categorised under the topics of Consumers and Service industries.

That this House opposes the proposed extension to Sunday trading hours; believes Sunday should be kept as a time for family, community and rest; is concerned that the extension of hours may pressure workers into taking extra hours on, even if they do not wish to; further believes that extending hours risks taking business away from smaller shops that are open when supermarkets are currently closed; and believes that there is very little demand for change from the public.

This motion has been signed by a total of 7 MPs.
