That this House congratulates the Royal Society of Biology on organising Voice of the Future 2016 on 1 March in the House, and on its continuing commitment under its Royal Charter to serve the public benefit by seeking to assist right hon. and hon. Members with a better understanding of science; notes that Voice of the Future 2016 took place in the run-up to National Science and Engineering Week and involved young scientists and engineers from many of the UK's leading science organisations, including A-Level science students from Queens Park Community School and Wallington High School for Girls; further notes the involvement of the Government's Chief Scientific Adviser, the Minister for Universities and Science, and the Shadow Minister for Business, Innovation and Skills; notes the Science Question Time with hon. Members of the Science and Technology Select Committee led by the hon. Member for Oxford and Abingdon West; recognises the involvement of many of the UK's greatest science and engineering organisations; applauds in particular the unique video message sent by Major Tim Peake on board the International Space Station which represents the first ever message to Parliament from space; and welcomes the contribution that Voice of the Future 2016 has made to parliamentary history and to building and maintaining a constructive dialogue between Parliament and the younger generation of scientists and engineers.
