Urgent Humanitarian Aid To Yemen

That this House welcomes the delivery of three tonnes of medical supplies into Taiz, Yemen, by the International Committee of the Red Cross; notes that this is the first delivery of medical supplies to Taiz since August 2015; further notes that 200,000 people in Taiz are currently in urgent need of medical supplies; commends the International Committee of the Red Cross for its crucial and lifesaving work in Yemen; also welcomes the announcement by the UN of a $1.8 billion campaign for urgent aid in Yemen; is concerned that the 2015 UN appeal was only 56 per cent funded; notes that 21.2 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance in Yemen; notes that 2.7 million Yemenis have been forced to flee their homes; and urges the Government to support this campaign and increase efforts to establish a ceasefire and brings the conflict to a close.
