That this House notes the importance of Crown Post Office services to the communities they serve; further notes the economic benefits that the Crown Post Office brings to city centres and high streets; regrets that Post Office Ltd has proposed the closure of three Crown Post Offices in Belfast South, South Antrim and Vale of Glamorgan, and the franchise of 39 Crown Post Offices in Bermondsey and Old Southwark, Birmingham Edgbaston, Bognor Regis and Littlehampton, Bromsgrove, Broxtowe, Bury St Edmunds, Ceredigion, City of Durham, Edmonton, Halifax, Harlow, Hartlepool, Hitchin and Harpenden, Hornsey and Wood Green, Kilmarnock and Loudoun, Lancaster and Fleetwood, Leeds North West, Lewes, Lewisham West and Penge, Maidenhead, Meon Valley, North Oxfordshire, Paisley and Renfrewshire South, Peterborough, Plymouth Sutton and Devonport, Ruislip Northwood and Pinner, Sittingbourne and Sheppey, South Suffolk, St Austell and Newquay, St Ives, Stoke-on-Trent South, Suffolk Coastal, The Cotswolds, Tiverton and Honiton, Vale of Clwyd, Wakefield, and Westminster North; and urges the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills to intervene to protect Crown Post Office jobs and services, and the local high streets and shopping centres where they are located.
