That this House recognises the contribution to British football that Sir Alex Ferguson made in his time as a player and a manager; acknowledges the legacy that he has left behind both for Manchester United fans and also football fans in general in Northern Ireland who enjoyed, throughout the Troubles, the support that Sir Alex gave to the Milk Cup and other sporting events that took place in Northern Ireland; and thanks him for his passion and love of the beautiful game that has inspired an entire generation and will continue to impact and inspire generations to come.
