That this House congratulates Len McCluskey, General Secretary of Unite the Union, Lutfur Rahman, Mayor of Tower Hamlets and Barclays Bank for their unique partnership in launching a new Unite Community Centre, the first of its type, in Cable Street, Tower Hamlets, East London; notes that the centre will help people in one of the most deprived areas of the UK with employment and welfare issues; further notes that this community centre will be the first of a number of such centres that will be rolled out by Unite over the next period; acknowledges the important role played by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets in helping to deliver this initiative; commends Barclays Bank for its support for the centre; and further notes that the centre will offer various educational courses, including IT skills as well as offering assistance to find employment, from creating a CV to interview preparation and with centre staff also advising on the growing number of welfare and benefit issues in London's second most deprived borough.
