Creating More Housing Settlements

EDM number 492 in 2013-14, proposed by George Galloway on 09/09/2013.
Categorised under the topic of Housing.

That this House commends the report by the Building and Social Housing Federation entitled, Creating the Conditions for New Settlements in England; notes that it points up the chronic undersupply of new housing, with the need to build 160,000 more houses a year than the current 100,000; and encourages the Government to take up the recommendations, which include creating an overall strategic spatial plan for England as well as ensuring that HM Treasury puts funding in place to pay for those additional desperately needed homes.
