Back Britain's Charities Campaign

EDM number 289 in 2013-14, proposed by Philip Davies on 20/06/2013.
Categorised under the topic of Charities.

That this House notes the important role that charities play in communities across Britain; acknowledges that many charities work to support some of the most vulnerable people in society; expresses concern at recent research which shows that charitable donations have fallen by 20 per cent over the last year; understands that many charities are dealing with reduced income and rising demand for their services; welcomes the work of the Back Britain's Charities campaign created by the Charities Aid Foundation; further notes that the campaign has received widespread support from charities of all sizes across Britain; further understands the important role that politicians, businesses, members of the public and charities themselves can play in strengthening the charity sector; and calls on the Government to ensure that charities are supported and able to continue their vital work.
