That this House congratulates Edinburgh on being selected to represent Scotland in the Royal Horticultural Society's Britain in Bloom Finals 2013; welcomes the competition's focus on improving communal gardens, parks and natural spaces in Edinburgh; further welcomes the involvement of local schools and residents in the promotion of recycling and environmental awareness; notes that Edinburgh has been chosen for outstanding commitment to environmental responsibility, community participation and gardening achievement; recognises the competitionfor enhancing the city through gardening and environmental measures; applauds the dedication of volunteers to Britain in Bloom, which is the country's biggest voluntary campaign; and acknowledges the legacy of the 2010 Olympics on the willingness of people to donate time to projects such as this.
