Tribute To Acer Nethercott

EDM number 988 in 2012-13, proposed by Robert Halfon on 29/01/2013.
Categorised under the topic of Sports.

That this House pays warm tribute to Olympic medal-winning cox and Harlow resident Mr Acer Nethercott, who has sadly died aged 35; notes that Acer was known to many as the top British cox of his time and that he had already coxed the British men's eight to silver at the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008, having won World Championship bronze the year before in 2007; hopes that his achievement will inspire a younger generation to be passionate about sport and to give them the confidence and discipline to want to represent their country on the world stage; and concludes that the thoughts of the whole House are with his family and friends at this time.

This motion has been signed by a total of 10 MPs.
