Israel's Illegal Action In International Waters

EDM number 9 in 2012-13, proposed by Bob Russell on 09/05/2012.
Categorised under the topics of International law, Middle East and Shipping.

That this House condemns the Israeli navy for boarding two ships in international waters in April, the vessels Beethoven and Victoria; is astonished that this serious breach of international law went largely unreported and questions what the attitude would have been had it been any country other than Israel which carried out such an illegal act; is dismayed at the response of the UK Government to this breach of international law by saying that Israel's `legitimate security concerns' were good enough reasons for them to do so; and calls on the UK Government not to supportIsrael in its continuing acts of breaches of international law and UN resolutions in respect of illegal action in international waters and in the illegal occupation of the West Bank and the annexation of East Jerusalem.
