Promotion Of Heat Pumps

EDM number 832 in 2012-13, proposed by Martin Caton on 10/12/2012.
Categorised under the topic of Renewable energy.

That this House recognises the important role of heat pumps, as identified in the Government's Carbon Plan and Heat Strategy, in reducing consumer fuel bills and in decarbonising the heat supply to buildings; welcomes the objective of thefourth carbon budget for the deployment of 6.8 million domestic heat pumps by 2030; further welcomes the Heat Pump Charter produced by eight leading companies in the heat pumps sector, which highlights how energy companies, manufacturers and Government can work together to achieve thefourth carbon budget uptake objectives; and hopes the Government will work to achieve this aim.

This motion has been signed by a total of 46 MPs.
