Succession To The Crown

EDM number 804 in 2012-13, proposed by Keith Vaz on 03/12/2012.

That this House congratulates the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the announcement that they are expecting their first child; notes the importance of introducing legislation immediately in the UK to reform the outdated law of succession; further notes that it has been over a year since the Commonwealth Heads of Government agreed to change the laws of succession;and urges the Government to ensure that Britain and the Commonwealth implement this change before the royal child is born.
