Opening Of The Green Investment Bank

EDM number 802 in 2012-13, proposed by Michael Crockart on 03/12/2012.
Categorised under the topics of Climate change and Renewable energy.

That this House welcomes the arrival of the Green Investment Bank in Edinburgh and notes that the bank is now open for business; believes that the Green Investment Bank's headquarters being based in Edinburgh demonstrates the strength of Scotland's capital as a renewable energy and financial services centre; acknowledges that the bank will play a vital role in the transition to a low-carbon economy and welcomes the initial 3 billion investment; and further acknowledges the location of the Green Investment Bank as a demonstration of the Government's belief in Edinburgh as a pioneer of the green revolution and a vital part of the UK's drive towards a sustainable and green future.
