Comet Redundancies

EDM number 794 in 2012-13, proposed by Robert Halfon on 28/11/2012.
Categorised under the topic of Unemployment.

That this House is deeply concerned by the job losses at Comet stores across the country, including 80 in Harlow, with more now at risk; calls on the administrators Deloitte to ensure that all Comet staff are treated fairly and that they receive proper advice and support; andfinally urges the Government to investigate this insolvency process, including the terms and structure of the purchase of Comet by OpCapita LLP in February 2012, given that a number of former Comet employees have now made allegations of serious malpractice.

This motion has been signed by a total of 16 MPs.
