That this House supports religious freedom for people in all nations; notes the renewed pressure from the Algerian authorities on evangelical churches and individual Christians; further supports the estimated 25,000 Christians in Algeria and supports the right of conversion from other religions; and believes that diplomatic pressure should be applied to ensure that Algeria brings into full operation the International Covenant of Civil and Political Rights which enshrines religious liberty and to which the Algerian government has signed up.
