Trustees' Week 2012
EDM number 693 in 2012-13, proposed by Greg Mulholland on 06/11/2012.
That this House welcomes the third annual Trustees' Week on 5-11 November 2012 as an opportunity to celebrate the charity trustee role and encourage people to get involved in running local charities; recognises the work that 750,000 trustees do across the country in managing charities of all shapes and sizes; notes the fantastic benefits that being a charity trustee brings, including personal fulfilment and enhanced employment prospects; further notes that around half of trustee boards report that they have a vacancy; encourages anyone who wants to get involved in their local community to visit the Trustees' Week 2012 website to find out more; and thanks the Trustees' Week partner organisations for raising awareness of this essential part ofsociety.
