That this House welcomes the move towards a comprehensive front-of-pack food labelling system; recognises the need to provide clear and consistent advice to consumers about their dietary choices; further recognises that the proposed labelling system should remove confusion; notes that small changes to diets can have a big impact on an individual's health; further notes that obesity is closely linked to the spiralling numbers of people developing Type 2 diabetes; and calls on the Government to make health warnings compulsory on products that contain over 50 per cent of an individual's guideline daily amounts per portion in either calories, fats, sugaror salt.
