Categorised under the topic of Financial institutions.
That this House deplores the decision of HSBC to close its branch located in Shildon, County Durham; notes that in light of this decision the town of Shildon, home to over 10,000 residents, will be left without any banking facilities meaning residents will be forced to travel several miles to get to their nearest bank; further notes that this decision is especially deplorable in light of the fact that HSBC made a pre-tax profit of 13.7 billion last year and paid their Chief Executive just under 8 million; and finally calls for HSBC to review urgentlyits decision to close its branch in Shildon.
