That this House expresses its thanks to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission for its continued work to ensure that 1.7 million people who died in the two world wars will never be forgotten; applauds its care for both cemeteries and memorials at 23,000 locations, in 153 countries, including the graves of more than 935,000 identified casualties and almost 212,000 unidentified individuals and for its efforts to ensure that the names of almost 760,000 people can be found on memorials to the missing; recognises the vision and determination of its founder Sir Fabian Ware; and reiterates the view expressed by King George V in 1922 when he said `I have many times asked myself whether there can be more potent advocates of peace upon earth through the years to come than this massed multitude of silent witnesses to the desolation of war'.
