Economic Strategy

EDM number 1235 in 2012-13, proposed by George Galloway on 21/03/2013.
Categorised under the topics of Economic situation and Economic policy.

That this House believes that there is an alternative economic strategy to the failing policies of the Coalition Government; notes that 80 per cent of the Government's austerity measures are yet to come; further notes that lower than predicted growth has lengthened the time the Government expects the cuts to last; commends the dozens of eminent economists and academics who believe that a meaningful and different growth strategy can bring the UK out of the economic morass; and looks forward to the People's Assembly Against Austerity, which is receiving very widespread support from trade unions and other organisations, on 22 June 2013 in Central Hall, Westminster, and the mobilisation of resistance against the economic policies of the Government.
