Failure Of Transparency In Local Enterprise Partnerships
EDM number 1232 in 2012-13, proposed by George Galloway on 20/03/2013.
Categorised under the topics of Regional development agencies and Regional planning and development.
That this House believes that Government plans to devolve crucial expenditure and development power to local enterprise partnerships is intrinsically flawed; agrees that while increased decentralisation towards local areas is welcome the process needs to be fully transparent; notes that the Sustainable Communities Act 2007 requires that the Government provides this through local annual spending reports so that informed decisions can be taken; and further believes that these decisions cannot properly be taken because the Government has failed to produce these local spending reports.
