Scratch Card Prizes And The National Lottery

EDM number 1109 in 2012-13, proposed by Robert Halfon on 26/02/2013.
Categorised under the topics of Gambling and National Lottery.

That this House is deeply troubled by reports in The Sun on Sunday suggesting that there are potentially thousands of instant scratch cards on sale right now, where the jackpot has already been won and which therefore mislead people about the prizes on offer; believes that, if true, this is a shocking indictment of the way Camelot runs the National Lottery, as it suggests that a massive fraud is being perpetrated on the public; notes that Lottery ticket prices have already been raised to 2, with money set aside for a 5 million bonus pot for senior Camelot staff; calls on Camelot to stop selling its customers a pup; and urges the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to hold a full inquiry into Camelot and its contract and to consider new management when Camelot's contract expires in 2019.

This motion has been signed by a total of 7 MPs.
