Changes To The Lisbon Treaty

EDM number 888 in 2010-12, proposed by Roger Godsiff on 25/10/2010.
Categorised under the topic of EU law and treaties.

That this House notes the proposals floated by Germany and France to re-open the Lisbon Treaty in order to force Member States that find themselves in a severe financial crisis, as happened in the case of Greece, to declare themselves insolvent and to forfeit their voting rights in the EU Councils; and calls on the Government to reaffirm its promise that any further changes to the Lisbon Treaty will be put to a referendum of the British people.
