UK Troops And Afghanistan

EDM number 717 in 2010-12, proposed by Caroline Lucas on 13/09/2010.
Categorised under the topic of Afghanistan.

That this House notes the failure of NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan to contain the Taliban; further notes the transition to Afghan control is not taking place; is aware that strategic objectives in Afghanistan are not being met; is conscious of the mounting number of dead and injured UK and other NATO troops, as well as an unrecorded number of Afghan civilians; does not regard the UK's participation in ISAF as being in the interests of UK troops or the people of Afghanistan; believes it is time the UK withdrew from Afghanistan; and calls on the Government to bring the troops home.

This motion has been signed by a total of 8 MPs.
