2010 Drug Strategy Consultation

EDM number 709 in 2010-12, proposed by Caroline Lucas on 09/09/2010.
Categorised under the topic of Drugs misuse.

That this House is concerned at the duration of the Home Office's consultation on the Government's drug strategy 2010 published on 20 August 2010 which closes to submissions on 30 September 2010; considers the length, lack of policy detail and inaccessibility of this consultation to contravene the Cabinet Office's Code of Practice on public consultation; further believes that organisations working in the field of drug and alcohol treatment will be unable to use this consultation to meaningfully contribute to thedevelopment of effective Government policyin this complex and important area; and calls on the Government to extend the duration and scope of this consultation, in compliance with the existing Code of Practice.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
