Nuclear Enrichment In Iran

EDM number 708 in 2010-12, proposed by Robert Halfon on 09/09/2010.
Categorised under the topics of Iran and Nuclear power.

That this House expresses concern at a report by the International Atomic Energy Agency detailing Iran's accelerated nuclear enrichment programme in defiance of the international community, which was widely reported in the national press, and which stated that the Iranian regime possessed `at least 22 kilograms of enriched uranium at least 20 per cent. purity, a technical hurdle that is the hardest to overcome on the way to weapons-grade uranium'; notes Iran's continued failure to co-operate with inspections; regrets that economic sanctions implemented in accordance with UNSC Resolution 1929 appear to be having minimal effect upon Tehran decision-makers; urges the Government resolutely to oppose the Iranian regime whilst championing the Iranian people who are suffering from their Government's actions; and advocates continued efforts to isolate the Iranian leadership.

This motion has been signed by a total of 4 MPs.
