Police Protection For Former Prime Ministers
EDM number 662 in 2010-12, proposed by Roger Godsiff on 06/09/2010.
Categorised under the topic of Police.
That this House notes with concern, particularly in the present economic climate, the recent estimates of the cost of protecting former Prime Ministers and other former politicians; believes that the Government should conduct an urgent review of these funding arrangements; and further believes thatformer politicians should pay towards the cost of their own police protection when they receive income from commercial activities when they are accompanied by bodyguards paid for by the UK taxpayer.
This motion has been signed by a total of 11 MPs.
