National Teachers' Day Campaign

EDM number 647 in 2010-12, proposed by Lorely Burt on 27/07/2010.
Categorised under the topic of Teachers.

That this House celebrates the tremendous work that teachers do; recognises that without teachers the country's potential can never be realised; appreciates the dedication that teachers show in imparting knowledge, wisdom and values to children; regrets the lack of recognition that teachers often receive, suffering insolence and even abuse instead of the appreciation they deserve; and calls on the Government to introduce a national teachers' day to recognise the invaluable work they do in creating caring and capable citizens of the future.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
