First Scotrail And Rmt

EDM number 579 in 2010-12, proposed by Katy Clark on 21/07/2010.
Categorised under the topics of Industrial relations and Railways.

That this House notes the continuing dispute between First ScotRail and the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers that has resulted in six days of industrial action being taken since February 2010; believes that the issue at the heart of the dispute is First ScotRail's refusal to abide by the agreement that the company would not, during the current franchise, remove conductors from any of the services on which they are now present; further believes that the interests of passengers will be best served by an early negotiated settlement; and calls on First ScotRail to honour the existing agreement with the union.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
