Entry Clearance And Appeal Delay

EDM number 495 in 2010-12, proposed by Peter Bottomley on 14/07/2010.
Categorised under the topic of Immigration.

That this House believes that in particular cases, such as the request for a family visit by the overseas mother of a woman in Britain who had a complex premature birth of asecond child, and whose husband works long hours at moderate pay, a delay of over 10 weeks before there is further information on the appeal against the refusal of a visa is inappropriate; and further believes it to be rightfor Entry Clearance to be granted without delay in such a case.

This motion has been signed by a total of 14 MPs.
