Chadwell By-Election

EDM number 468 in 2010-12, proposed by Mike Gapes on 12/07/2010.
Categorised under the topic of By-elections.

That this House congratulates Wes Streeting on his election to Redbridge Council in the by-election in Chadwell Ward on 8 July 2010; notes that Labour won 800 votes, 220 more than the Conservative candidate, with the Liberal Democrats forced into a humiliating third place in a ward they had represented for 16 years until May 2010; and expresses its belief that this is a resounding rejection of the Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition in power in both Redbridge and nationally.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
