That this House applauds the work of Advantage West Midlands in promoting sustainable economic growth across the West Midlands; notes that there is a vital need for strong, effective and efficient regional development in the West Midlands, one of the worst affected regions in the recession; welcomes the fact that independent auditor, PricewaterhouseCoopers, verified Advantage West Midlands' findings that for every 1it invests, 8.14 is generated for the regional economy, making this double the national average for regional development agency investment growth; further notes that since 1999 140,000 jobs have been created or safeguarded in the region as a direct result of Advantage West Midlands' work; and calls on the Government to reverse its decision to abolish Advantage West Midlands.
