Place-Based Budgets

EDM number 423 in 2010-12, proposed by Julian Huppert on 07/07/2010.
Categorised under the topics of Central government and Local government.

That this House recognises that there needs to be an urgent and fundamental reform of the relationship between central and local government; commends the work of the Local Government Association (LGA) in drawing up a detailed plan for this reform; believes that a move to place-based area budgeting would save money, cut waste, remove bureaucracy and allow for better decisions to be made locally and accountably; and recommends that the Government takes up the LGA's offer to work alongside them to begin the process of reform immediately.

This motion has been signed by a total of 9 MPs.
