Privacy And Digital Information On The Internet

EDM number 416 in 2010-12, proposed by Robert Halfon on 06/07/2010.
Categorised under the topic of Internet and cybercrime.

That this House notes that Google's camera car allegedly took pictures of a naked child while it was mapping every road in Britain; is concerned that while the company blurs out the registration plate of cars, it did nothing to censor this image automatically; welcomes Google's subsequent blurring of the image; asks that all Internet companies be careful, lawful and decent with the private information that they hold; further notes that this raises once again the importance of balancing the need for Internet innovation against an individual'sright to privacy; and urges the Information Commissioner to consider undertaking a formal inquiry into these matters.

This motion has been signed by a total of 11 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
