That this House congratulates Ffos Las Racecourse, Carwe, Carmarthenshire, on its first anniversary, with more than 70,000 race goers attending 19 meetings, watching 127 races featuring more than 1,100 horses; congratulates Ffos Las on winning various awards in its first year, including being selected Best Newcomer by betting magazine Betview, the Institution for Civil Engineers Wales chairman's award for sustainability, the Racegoers' Club award for best small racecourse in the south west and for its catering; and recognises the important role that Ffos Las plays in stimulating the local economy, attracting people to south west Wales and strengthening links between Wales and Ireland, as well as raising the profile of Wales in the horseracing world and promoting the delights of Carmarthenshire.
